Looking ahead.
Cotier is a founder-led private AI business in Surrey, built around a simple belief: useful technology should make sense in the real world.
Cotier is a private AI business for owners and managers who want to make a considered start with AI.
We are based at Smithbrook Kilns in Cranleigh, Surrey. Cotier is led by its founder, Hal Wooding, and brings a local, direct point of contact to a fast-changing subject.
Our work is informed by running a technical business and seeing how technology can help make complex information useful. We believe business AI can be a positive force when it is approached with curiosity, sound judgement and a clear understanding of the work it is meant to support.
Meet Hal
Wooding.
Hal is Cotier’s founder, a qualified engineer who started programming at the age of 14. He combines a hands-on understanding of software with the practical perspective of a business owner.
Over the past two years, Hal has completely automated Wooding Geospatial Solutions. That experience has reinforced his belief that technology is most valuable when it becomes a useful part of everyday work—not another system for people to work around.
With Cotier, Hal is bringing that experience to business owners and managers looking to put AI to work. His approach combines an engineer’s attention to how things function with a business owner’s focus on cost, reliability and results. He sees AI as a practical opportunity to give smaller teams more capability, while keeping people in control.
